Educational Objectives
The overall goal of Geometry of Space Navigation is to facilitate student development of skills in geometry by providing a relevant and inspiring context.
Performance Objectives
In this learning package students will:
- identify, describe, compare, and classify geometric figures;
- solve problems applying geometric reasoning;
- understand the concepts of symmetry and congruency;
- investigate the attributes of two-dimensional shapes;
- use language effectively to describe geometric concepts, reasoning, and investigations.
Links to Common Frameworks of Science Learning Objectives
These outcomes from the Pan Canadian Protocol &150; Common Framework of Science Learning Outcomes are integrated into each phase of Geometry of Space Navigation. They reflect the learning outcomes for students by the end of grade 6.
