Phase 2 - In Orbit

Description

Students access the Toolkit for the Math Mentor tutorials, the Math Challenge quiz, or Exploration activities.

A. Math Mentor

• Students have access to interactive tutorials on:

  • Introducing Triangles
  • Classifying Triangles
  • Isosceles Triangle Explorer
  • Equilateral Triangles
  • Coordinates and Triangles

B. Math Challenge

• The quiz for Phase 2 contains 12 questions. Students use an on-screen protractor to measure angles. They enter their answers on screen; the computer marks the questions and produces a score.

C. Exploration

• The experiments/activities are:

  • Junior Space Explorer Challenge #2
  • Estimating Angles
  • The Language of Triangles

These can be printed directly from the Exploration section of the interactive resource.

In the Educator’s Guide there are Teacher’s Notes for each experiment/activity. In some cases, an assessment instrument for a particular activity is also included.
