Glossary
Congruent:
Having the same size and shape.
Parallel lines:
Lines in the same plane that run alongside each other forever without ever crossing.
Parallelogram:
A shape with two pairs of parallel sides. A square, rhombus, and a rectangle can also be called parallelograms.
Polygon:
A closed two-dimensional figure formed by three or more line segments.
Quadrilateral:
Polygon with 4 sides.
Rectangle:
A quadrilateral with 2 pairs of sides that are parallel and congruent.
Rhombus:
A quadrilateral with 4 congruent sides.
Trapezoid:
A quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides.
