Phase 5 - Powering Up

Toolkit

Students access the Toolkit for the Math Mentor tutorials, the Math Challenge quiz, or Exploration activities.

A. Math Mentor

• Students have access to the following interactive tutorials:

  • Perimeter
  • Introduction to Area
  • Area of Rectangles
  • Area of Triangles

B. Math Challenge

• The quiz for Phase 5 contains 10 questions. After the students enter their responses on screen, the computer marks the questions and produces a score.

C. Exploration

• The experiments/activities include:

  • Junior Space Explorer Challenge #5
  • Accuracy Counts
  • Design a Mission Badge

These can be printed directly from the Exploration section of the interactive resource.

In the Educator’s Guide, Teacher’s Notes are provided for each experiment/activity. In some cases, an assessment instrument for a particular activity is also included.
