Embrace Space 2002 - From Space Station to Mars
Mars has fascinated generations of students and adults alike. The Canadian Space Agency hopes to embark, in the near future, on the global effort to develop technologies that will allow humanity to reach and explore the red planet.
It is therefore fitting not only that the theme of Embrace Space 2002 is "Adventure to Mars," but that its timing, May 2, 2002, almost coincides with the delivery of Canada's Mobile Base System (MBS) --a cutting-edge robotic base used to transport Canadarm2-- to the International Space Station during Mission STS-111/Flight UF-2 scheduled for the end of May.
