The Space Science Program and its designates also participate in a number of International Working Groups and Strategic Planning Committees. These are convened to discuss multilateral issues such as increasing the global understanding of climate change, the scientific utilization of the International Space Station, Mars exploration, etc.

Discipline Working Groups were formed as a result of an Announcement of Opportunity by the Canadian Space Agency. These provide opportunities for members of the Canadian space science community to form teams and discuss important issues pertaining to their field of science or discipline. DWG meetings are excellent forums to discuss national and international cooperation in space research with scientists in Canada and abroad. Certain Terms and Conditions apply to the DWGs.
